Church Street Park Northern Lot Closure April 27-June 1
Morrisville's Church Street Park Northern Lot, located at 5800 Cricket Pitch Way, will be closed to the public from Monday, April 27, to Monday, June 1, while lighting upgrades are installed. The closure will impact the cricket field, pitch, walking track, shelter, grandstands, playground, tennis courts and parking lot.
Temporary Closure Planned for Section of Indian Creek Greenway
A section of the Indian Creek Greenway will be temporarily closed as part of NCDOT's Airport Boulevard extension project. The closure will begin Wednesday, May 13, weather permitting, and is expected to remain in place until the project is complete.
To maintain connectivity for greenway users, a pedestrian and bike detour will be in place spanning just over a quarter mile along Garden Square Lane. Signage will be installed to guide users safely. Please use caution when traveling through the area and follow posted detour signs.
Hatcher Creek Greenway Closure May 4-18
A section of the Hatcher Creek Greenway - from the pickleball courts at Morrisville Community Park to the access point behind Morrisville Market (Walmart) - will be closed May 4 for approximately two weeks for repaving. A portion of the MCP parking lot near the pickleball courts will be closed for construction staging.
Pavement Patching and Resurfacing Road Closures Starting May 11

Dog Park Closure May 19
The Grounds Maintenance Division of Public Works has scheduled a closure of both dog lots at the Morrisville Dog Park on Tuesday, May 19. Scheduled maintenance will include weed control and removal, mulch additions as needed, and inspection of grounds. The dog lot gates will remain closed for the entirety of the day to avoid unnecessary exposure of dogs to maintenance equipment and personnel.
Town Center Temporary Road Closures
- Ongoing: Morrisville Community Library visitors will need to park in the new lot at Carolina Street and Foxglove Drive and walk along a marked route to the library entrance. Signs will guide visitors to and from the parking lot.
- As of April 6, Foxglove Drive from Jeremiah Street to Carolina Street is closed for 18 months as part of the development and staging required to facilitate construction activities in the area.
- The utility work on Carolina Street will pick back up over the next few weeks, into June and linear street closures will continue up Carolina Street toward Church Street over the summer as the construction crews rebuild Carolina Street and add new sidewalks.
- Construction activities will occur during normal daytime hours. No significant noise impacts are anticipated beyond typical construction sounds already common in the area.
