Welcome to the Community Innovation Group (CIG)
The Community Innovation Group (CIG) is a staff-led initiative in Morrisville that brings together residents and town staff who are passionate about using technology to improve our Town. Whether you're a student, a professional, or just someone who cares about your community, CIG is your chance to get involved, share your ideas, and help shape the future of where we live, work, and play.
CIG hosts quarterly in-person orientation sessions that are open to everyone. These sessions are a great way to learn more about what we do, meet the team, and hear about the exciting projects we’re working on. Once you register as a member, you’ll be invited to attend regular meetings throughout the year where we discuss community challenges, explore new ideas, and collaborate on solutions that use technology to make life better for everyone in Morrisville.
What Are Subgroups?
As a CIG member, you may have the opportunity to join a subgroup—a small team that works closely with town staff on a specific project. Each subgroup focuses on a particular issue or goal, like improving digital access, creating smart city tools, or designing new ways to connect residents with local services. These are short-term, hands-on projects with clear goals and deliverables. You’ll get to contribute your ideas, learn new skills, and see your work make a real impact in the community.
Subgroups are a great way to explore deeper into topics you care about and work side-by-side with professionals and fellow community members. Whether you're interested in tech, design, communication, or just want to help out, there’s a place for you.
