Wetdown Ceremony

Join the Morrisville Fire Department at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11, at Fire Station 1 (200 Town Hall Drive) as the department introduces its newest fire apparatus with a traditional wetdown ceremony.

A wetdown ceremony is a firefighting tradition in which a new fire engine or apparatus is officially commissioned by being sprayed with water from a hose or other firefighting equipment. It’s a celebratory way for firefighters to welcome new equipment and mark it as part of the community’s protection force.
