Crabtree Creek Greenway was built in two phases, with the first section completed in 2018.A railroad underpass was built through a partnership with North Carolina Railroad (NCRR). This project was completed and full trail opened in September of 2020. NCRR invested $8.5 million to construct a new railroad bridge over Crabtree Creek in Morrisville, replacing a structure built in 1927. The Town contributed $1.4 million, bringing the total project cost to $9.9 million. The railroad bridge allows for the greenway to pass under it.
