Recycling
Co-mingled recyclables are collected weekly by GFL using 95-gallon recycling carts.
Material to be recycled is taken to the Sonoco multi-material sorting facility in Raleigh.

In support of our Language Access Plan, we have added a Hindi version of the Recycle Right flyer(PDF, 2MB).
Recycling Reminders
- All items must be placed loose in the cart -no plastic bags
- Please keep paper dry, as wet paper will be sent to the landfill.
- Rinse and flatten all recyclables as appropriate to maximize the use of your recycling bin or cart space.
- GFL will not collect any recyclables (including cardboard) left outside the recycling cart.
- Cart repairs and replacements are done every Wednesday by GFL.
- Have recycling containers curbside and ready for pick up no later than 7 a.m.
Fats, Oils, and Grease Collection
Please help keep our water and sewer pipes clear by disposing of your Fats, Oils, and Greases correctly and having them processed into Bio-fuel.
Residents can dispose of their fats, oils, and greases from their food preparation at the Public Works Facility located at 414 Aviation Parkway.
Please bring your cooled FOGs in a screw-top container and place them on a shelf in the blue cabinet right outside the main entrance gate.
Items Accepted
- Cooking oils (vegetable, corn, peanut, sunflower, canola, olive, soybean, flaxseed, or any combination of edible cooking oils)
- Margarine
- Animal fats/greases (tallow, lard, butter or any combination of animal fats)
Oils and fats can be mixed in a single container. Motor oil is not accepted.

- Download CompostHere on the App Store or CompostHere App on Google Play.
- Create an account to 'unlock' the stations near you.
- Answer a few questions to ensure you understand what items are compostable. Contamination is real, and we need your help to create high-quality compost!
- Order your Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI)-certified compostable bags to collect your food waste in and drop directly into the bin (No plastic shopping bags are allowed).
- Help divert waste from our landfills, which are rapidly reaching capacity, and contribute to compost that will be used in our very own gardens in Town!
